Four British rookie snowboarders given pro chance
Four rookie British snowboarders are being handed the opportunity to turn pro.
The quartet were chosen after impressing the judges at AIM Series snowboard events across the country.
Claire Frost, Laura Hill, Olly Wood and Mark Watson will be known as
Orange Team Talk Now and will be coached by top British professional
Jenny Jones.
They are going to a training camp in Tignes in France and will start on
a six-month calendar of events ending at the British Championships in
March.
All four snowboarders are students who have been snowboarding for between five and nine years.
Jenny Jones said: "This is a huge opportunity for any amateur snowboarder.
"To be given the chance to make it as a pro through training and
support is relatively unheard of and a dream come true for any aspiring
snowboarder.
"This is also a great opportunity for me as it's a chance to share some
of my experience with four riders that could be the future of British
snowboarding."
