Swiss skier Corinne Rey-Bellet shot dead
Swiss skier Corinne Rey-Bellet, who had won silver in the 2003 World Cup, has been shot and killed at her parents' chalet along with her brother Alain, police reports say.
Their mother was seriously injured too in Sunday's attack, which took place in the Swiss resort of Les Crosets , however, the skier's two-year-old son survived unhurt.
Police said a gunman had already fled the scene of the crime by the time they arrived and they have named Rey-Bellet's husband, Gerold Stadler, whose car was found nearby, as the main suspect for the murder.
Swiss police have issued an arrest warrant for Mr Stadler and magistrate Philippe Medico said Mr Stadler had been seen leaving the house holding a gun.
The couple were reported to have had marital problems and they had recently separated.
Corinne Rey-Bellet, who also won five World Cup races, announced her retirement shortly after her silver medal win due to a series of injuries to her right knee.
Swiss ski director Hansruedi Laich said he was shocked at the news and he added: "To lose such a great skier in this way is tragic."
