Bad weather threatens women's Alpine downhill combined skiing
Wind and poor visibility conditions have cast doubts on Friday's women's Alpine skiing combined downhill in San Sicario.
Winter Olympic officials said the race jury would be deciding at 0945
GMT whether the downhill could go ahead as planned at 1100 GMT.
But chief race director Atle Skaardal said that the two slalom legs of
the combined would be going ahead as planned in Sestriere later on
Friday.
However, the downhill could be delayed until after the men's super-G on Saturday if needs be.
The training run on Thursday on the downhill course was cancelled due to the first snow of the Games and poor visibility.
Croatian defending champion Janica Kostelic has been passed fit to
defend her title after having been withdrawn from Wednesday's downhill
with a higher than normal pulse rate.
"Janica feels better, she will start," spokesman Ozren Mueller said.
Janica Kostelic had surgery on her thyroid two years ago, and her health has been in question ever since.
