Swedish skier Andre Myhrer wins men's slalom in Colorado Swedish skier Andre Myhrer kept focused over the course of both runs to win his first World Cup race with a triumph in the men's slalom at Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Andre Myhrer, who was fastest in the opening leg, kept his lead on the second run and won with an aggregate time of one minute 48.60 seconds.
Canadian rival Michael Janyk progressed from fifth after the opening run to second place for his first World Cup career podium and Felix Neureuther came in third to reach the podium for the first time.
Andre Myhrer's previous best result was a second-place finish in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, two seasons ago.
Ted Ligety, the Olympic combined champion, who was second after the first leg, straddled a gate midway down the second run and Olympic champion Benjamin Raich straddled the second gate, which ended his hopes of winning his second slalom in as many tries.
