Woman sailor Shirley Robertson aims for revenge

shirley Scottish woman sailor Shirley Robertson may take revenge against her Athens Olympic team-mates Sarah Ayton and Sarah Webb at the Yngling World Championships in Miami.

Shirley Robertson, who is now sailing with a new crew, was overlooked for the Great Britain team for the Beijing Olympics, with Sarah Ayton and Sarah Webb selected for the Yngling contest.

However, Sarah Ayton and Sarah Webb will also be taking part in Miami, which means Shirley Robertson gets an opportunity to prove the selectors got it wrong, and she said: "As a team I felt we were cut off in our prime."

Shirley Robertson, 39, split with Sarah Ayton and Sarah Webb, when they were collectively known as the "three blondes in a boat," after winning gold in the Yngling class at the 2004 Athens Olympics to start a solo projects and begin a family.

However, Shirley Robertson launched a new Olympic campaign with Annie Lush and Lucy Macgregor in November 2006 and the new team came third at the World Championships last July.
