British divers suffer injuries
The British diving team's sporting chances have been badly hampered by further injuries and illness suffered by some of its members.
City of Sheffield diver Nick Robinson-Baker has had to pull out from the World Championships after he twisted his ankle whilst training.
Nick Robinson-Baker had been due to join Ben Swain as a team in the men's 3m synchro event in Melbourne, however, now that he has hurt himself he will be on crutches for the next two weeks.
In addition to this, Olympic medallists Leon Taylor has back problems and Pete Waterfield has been suffering an ear infection. Both divers hope to recover in time to compete in the 10-metre platform synchro event.
Meanwhile, Tonia Couch, who has a thumb injury, came ninth in the 10m synchro and national performance director Steve Foley said: "We're a little disappointed." Stacie Powell came ninth in the 10m synchro as well.
