Effecting Social Change through Women's Leadership in Sports ConferenceExecutive
Director, Tina Sloan Green has been appointed on to the Advisory Board
for the 2005 International Summit: Effecting Social Change through
Women's Leadership in Sports Conference to be held October 20-22 in
Atlanta, Georgia. Besides this, Tina Sloan Green will be one of the
featured speakers at the conference, which will feature a number of
prominent international and national sport leaders, educators, and
women activists committed to community development and social change.
This
two-day international conference on sport participation as a way of
combating societal and personal issues will focus on the unique
contribution of female leadership in sports to aid social change and
development. Sport and social change related research, program
initiatives, and best practices around the world are among topics for
discussion. The conference is being conducted in association with the
United States Olympic Committee and the International Labour
Organization of the United Nations which has proclaimed 2005 the
International Year of Sport and Physical Education.
