Olympics softball bidDon Porter, President of the International Softball Federation wants softball back in the Olympics. It was axed 3 months back by an International Olympics Committee members vote in the IOC session in Singapore and baseball went with it.
On October 4th Porter went with 6 players to Lausanne in Switzerland for an hour-long meeting with IOC President Jacques Rogges.
The next Olympic Games are to be held in London in 2012 so there is time for the sport to be reinstated. Rogges said that the only way was for the vote to be overturned at the next IOC session in Turin next February.
But Porter was described as optimistic and upbeat and said "We had a very positive meeting," and he added, "The door is still open."
