Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt wins Olympic gold
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt won the 200m as well as the Olympic 100m, and he did it in an amazing new world record time of 19.30 seconds.
21-year-old Bolt, who had already claimed the 100m title in a world record of 9.69 secs, crossed the finishing line beating Michael Johnson's mark of 19.32, which was set in Atlanta 12 years ago.
However, before the race took place Bolt had been said to be only jogging through the line in his heats but he responded saying he would run flat out in the finals and he kept his promise on that.
Usain Bolt was already well in the lead going into the bend at the Bird's Nest stadium and he kept up his powerful performance to win his gold medal.
Bolt has become the first athlete to claim the coveted Olympic sprint double since Carl Lewis won it in 1984.
