Fire breaks out in London near London Olympics site
The London Fire Brigade were summoned to deal with a massive fire that started in east London in the vicinity of where the main stadium for the London Olympics will be going.
The fire-fighters were called at 1206 GMT on Monday to put out the fire at a disused warehouse in Waterden Road, Hackney Wick, near Stratford, it has been reported.
The blaze has created a huge plume of black smoke that can be seen right across the skies of London.
The warehouse where the fire began is on the edge of the site chosen to be the Olympic Village and although the building was due to be demolished in the near future it was not to be done in this dangerous way.
The fire is also near to the Channel Tunnel high speed rail link, but Eurostar has said it is not causing them any serious problems.
Metropolitan Police, who are now investigating the fire, do not think it was caused by terrorists.
