Ethiopian athlete Haile Gebrselassie's thoughts on the Olympics
Ethiopian distance runner and track athlete Haile Gebrselassie could change his mind about not taking part in the marathon at this year's Olympic Games.
Haile Gebrselassie, 34, had previously said that he would not race in the marathon because of the high pollution levels in Beijing that could have a bad affect on his asthma.
However, Haile Gebrselassie has since said that he is thinking about taking part if the race was moved away from the polluted air of the city centre and a change to the start time was made.
Haile Gebrselassie said: "I do not want to rule anything out at this point."
Supporters in Ethiopia have been urging Haile Gebrselassie to take part in the marathon.
Haile Gebrselassie, who claimed a new marathon world record in Berlin in 2007, also said that what he had said about not taking part he didn't want people to think was anything to do with his attitude towards China, and he added: "I have nothing against China or their hosting of the Olympics. They are doing a great job."
