Cyclist Chris Hoy to lead Olympians and Paralympians parade
UK cyclist Chris Hoy will be at the head of a parade of British Olympians and Paralympians in London on Thursday.
They will all be celebrating their achievements this year at the Olympic Games in Beijing and Hoy is a triple gold medallist.
Hoy and the other cyclists, who won 17 gold medals in total between them, will be on the first of 12 floats.
The parade starts off from Mansion House at 1100 BST and then moves forward to St Paul's Cathedral going up the Strand to Trafalgar Square.
Hoy's float will also have Victoria Pendleton, Rebecca Romero and Paralympic champions Sarah and Barney Storey, Rachel Morris and Simon Richardson aborad, is scheduled to reach Nelson's Column at 1230 BST.
The last float in the procession is due to arrive in Trafalgar Square at 1330 BST.
All the sportspeople will then gather on the north terrace looking out over the square.
Following this there will be a reception at Buckingham Palace with the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal.
