Chris Hoy beats Jason Kenny to win a hat-trick of gold medals
UK cyclist Chris Hoy claimed an incredible hat-trick of gold medals when he defeated Jason Kenny in the sprint.
32-year-old Hoy has become the first British rider in a century to win three golds at the same Olympic Games, after he was also victorious earlier on in the team sprint and keirin.
But Hoy was under pressure in the first race from his 20-year-old rival, however, he managed to take full control of staying in the lead in the second race, and he made the sign for victory as he crossed the finish line.
Chris Hoy has now claimed gold in four separate Olympic events and in the past he won the 1km time trial at Athens back in 2004.
Jason Kenny came second gaining a silver and Hoy was happy to pay tribute to him, saying he thinks he is going to be a top star of cycling in the forthcoming years.
