2012 Olympics footage scrapped for triggering epilepsy
The video for the 2012 Olympics has been taken down from the website because it was claimed it was triggering epileptic fits in some people.
London's mayor Ken Livingstone has called for the creators of footage promoting the 2012 Olympics not to be paid because of this. Ken Livingstone said the designer should not be paid for the "catastrophic mistake" they had made.
Ken Livingstone made his remarks after part of the animated footage had to be removed from the 2012 Olympics organisers' website when experts advised on this.
Charity Epilepsy Action claimed it had received 18 calls from people who suffered attacks after watching the footage, and Simon Wigglesworth from the charity said he was shocked at the choice of animation.
The new 2012 Olympics logo, which cost £400,000 to develop, has also been seriously criticised and more than 38,000 people have signed an online petition to have it removed.
If that wasn't bad enough, some websites are claiming to be able to see sinister images in the logo including falling towers, the word Zion spelled out by the letters and even a stylised swastika.
