London 2012 communications director Mike Lee to leave
Mike Lee, one of the main people behind London's successful bid for the 2012 Olympics, is going to leave the organisation.
Mike Lee, the communications director and adviser to London 2012 boss Lord Coe, will be moving on at the end of the month.
Lord Coe said: "Mike has made a fantastic contribution, particularly in communicating our plans to the media."
Mike Lee, who used to work for Uefa and the Premier League, is starting
up a global sports PR firm in London, and may deal with Olympic bids
from other cities.
Jackie Brock-Doyle, who is the current head of public relations and
media, will be taking responsibility for the communications role at
LOCOG, the London organising committee for the Games.
Mike Lee said: "The London 2012 campaign has been a great experience.
Winning on 6 July was the most wonderful feeling and professionally my
proudest moment.
"New personal challenges now await but I know that the London Olympic
and Paralympic Games in 2012 continue to be in the safest possible
hands."
