Disgraced sprinter Tim Montgomery dealt heroin
Disgraced American sprinter Tim Montgomery has confessed to dealing heroin, only two months after he was imprisoned for fraud and conspiracy.
Montgomery admitted to having more than 100 grams of heroin in his possession and agreed that he had intended to distribute the drug.
33-year-old Montgomery now faces a minimum five-years in jail for the drugs charges, and he must return to court for sentencing on 10 October. He is already serving a 46-month sentence for a bogus cheque fraud.
Montgomery's lawyer, James Broccoletti, explained to the Associated Press news agency that his client has had time to reflect since he was imprisoned, and he has decided to take responsibility for what he has done.
Tim Montgomery had been already banned from athletics three years ago after it was discovered that he had used steroids, and he also lost his 100m world record as part of the punishment.
