British judo player Peter Cousins cleared for Olympics
British judo player Peter Cousins has won his appeal against an Olympic ban for missing three drugs tests and this means there is a chance for Christine Ohuruogu and Tim Don.
A British Olympic Association (BOA) panel ruled that Peter Cousins is allowed to compete at future Olympic Games due to mitigating circumstances of his case.
Athlete Christine Ohuruogu, 22, and world triathlon champion Tim Don, 28, are also appealing Olympic bans after they too missed three tests, however, the BOA said Cousins' case does not guarantee their bans will also be lifted.
BOA chief Simon Clegg explained: "It is worth noting that the panel has very clearly stated that the facts of this case do not provide an automatic read across to cases in the future.
"Athletes must be fully aware of their obligations as part of either the national or international testing pool."
Christine Ohuruogu submitted her appeal against her one-year and Olympic ban in October and blamed missing three out-of-competition tests on a change to her training schedule.
Tim Don has also appealed against his Olympic ineligibility but is not appealing against his three-month suspension.
