South African disabled sprinter Oscar Pistorius returns
South African paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius makes his return to the track in Italy on Wednesday for the first time since he was given the go ahead to compete against able-bodied athletes.
Double-amputee Pistorius still aims to make his country's team for the Beijing Olympic Games and very keen to make a good impression on his return to the action.
Oscar Pistorius will be taking part in his first race since the Court of Arbitration for Sport decided back in May that his prosthetic legs did not give him an unfair advantage against able-bodied contestants.
Pistorius is reported to have said happily: "I am really excited to be back on the track. It's my first competition of the year. When I wake up tomorrow, I will have a smile on my face."
So now Oscar Pistorius is going to do his best in Italy and keep his focus on taking part in Beijing too.
