Paralympic British cyclist Sarah Storey breaks own record
Former British swimmer turned cyclist Sarah Storey won overall honours in a special event when Paralympic stars broke three world records at the World Track Cycling Championships, which was held in Manchester.
Sarah Storey, 30, surpassed her own world 2km time trial record by more than two seconds, and she set a new time of two minutes 30.944 seconds.
The contest allowed each disabled rider to take part in their own specialist events against a set time, with points being given depending on how close they got to the world's best.
Sarah Storey, who is aiming for three titles at the Beijing Paralympics this summer, gave an impressive cycling performance in front of her home supporters in Manchester.
Sarah Storey, who used to compete using the name of Sarah Bailey until she got married to sprinter pilot Barney Storey, did well enough to win the overall event with a total of 101.350 points.
Sarah Storey just beat her former compatriot swimming team-mate Jody Cundy, who finished with 100.664 points.
