Great Britain paralympic wheelchair curlers in British Open
Great Britain's wheelchair curling Paralympic hopefuls get their final
chance to impress the selectors at this weekend's British Open
Championships.
The eight-strong training squad will be divided into two teams for the event, which takes place at the Green Hotel in Kinross.
Besides the Paralympic hopefuls, there will also be teams from Wales, England and Scotland competing in the event.
The final five-person squad for the Turin Games in March will be announced at the end of October.
16-year-old Clark Shiels who has represented Wales in the last two
World Championships is among the hopefuls and is the only non-Scot left
in contention.
"The panel have been training throughout the summer and that schedule
will be stepped up once the final squad is announced," said team
manager Ena Stevenson.
"Scotland are the current World Champions and we feel that Great Britain have a great chance of winning a medal in Turin."
The squad will take part in an international competition in Prague in the mid-November.
