Great Britain name disabled rowers for adaptive events at World Rowing Championships
Great Britain have announced the names of the disabled rowers who will be taking part in the adaptive events at the World Rowing Championships at Dorney Lake in Eton.
Great Britain will be represented in each of the four Paralympic boat classes for the first time at the world championships.
Among the crews of rowers are the mixed coxed four, who are defending champions in the event following their gold win in Japan last year.
The team this year includes three from last year - Katie-George Dunlevy, Alan Crowther and Alastair McKean - and they will be joined by Vicky Hansford and cox Alan Sherman in their bid to defend their title, although this year's race has been cut to half the distance and now stands at 1000m.
Two members of the GB women's basketball team who participated in the 2006 Paralympic World Cup have also been named for the squad.
Karen Cromie will join James Roberts in the mixed doubles scull and Helene Raynsford will take part in the women's 'arms only' single sculls.
The adaptive heats are being held on 25 August and the finals on 27 August.
