Great Britain are in the European Wheelchair Rugby Championships
Great Britain will be bidding to retain their title at this week's European Wheelchair Rugby Championships.
The Great Britain team go into the tournament in Denmark in good form
after their victory over Germany at the final of the recent Big Six
event at Stoke Mandeville.
"This is what we have been working for since the Athens Paralympics," said player Andy Barrow.
"I think that anything less than a gold medal from these championships would be a disappointment for us."
Great Britain begin their campaign on Thursday with games against
Ireland and Holland before facing Austria and Finland on Friday and
will end their pool games against Germany on Saturday.
Included in the leading teams in the other pool are Belgium, Poland and hosts Denmark and Barrow.
"Hopefully this tournament will help cement our position in Europe and
give us a strong platform to work towards for next year's world
championships and the Beijing Paralympics," said Andy Barrow.
"Germany will be a tough team as they will have one of their key players back who missed the Big 6.
"Standards are getting better and better all the time and we want to continue our progress."
GB squad are: Jon Coggan, Paul Shaw, Jason Roberts, Steve Palmer, Andy
Barrow, Justin Frishberg, Tony Stackhouse, Alan Ash, Troye Collins,
Ross Morrison, Mandip Sehmi, Dave Rhodes.
