Disabled British athlete Stephen Miller wins another world title
British disabled athlete Stephen Miller won his third straight world club title with a top performance at the IPC World Athletics Championships in Assen.
Stephen Miller, 26, from Gateshead landed 32.56m with his very first throw and that was enough to claim gold.
Ken Churchill also added a silver in the F37 javelin and there were bronze medals for Sally Reddin (F54 shot) and Tracey Hinton (T12 400m).
Stephen Miller was forced to watch from the sidelines as his Czech opponent Radim Beles went last however, in spite of throwing a personal best, he could not beat the British athlete.
"I was a bit nervous because I knew if he put in a good throw at the end there was nothing I could do about it," said Stephen Miller.
"It hasn't sunk in yet," Stephen Miller added.
