British wheelchair athlete David Weir leads at Swiss Open
British wheelchair athlete David Weir was in the lead amongst other impressive performances at Saturday's Swiss Open event in Ibach.
David Weir claimed four wins in the 400, 800, 1500 and 5,000m events, as well as breaking the British record in the 5,000m.
Shelly Woods, Anne Wafula Strike and Brian Alldis all gave very accomplished displays of skill too and in spite of the bad weather, the Swiss Open still featured the world's best racers.
David Weir won the 400m, clocking an impressive 46.90 seconds and beat Kenny van Weeghel who finished in second place.
David Weir, who had already beaten Australian Kurt Fearnley to win the London Marathon earlier this year, did so again in the 1500m, when he finished in three minutes 2.88 seconds, over five seconds clear of Kurt Fearnley.
Then in the 5,000m David Weir clocked 10:11.39 ahead of Kurt Fearnley's 10:11.56.
