Paraguay coach Anibal Ruiz says his team will shock England
Paraguay World Cup football coach Anibal Ruiz says he is confident his team can will create a shock and will be victorious over England when the teams face each other in Group B in Frankfurt on 10 June.
Anibal Ruiz says they have been studying England and striker Roque Santa Cruz's recovery to fitness will further aid their chances.
"We will show them the respect they deserve but I am confident about the match," Anibal Ruiz said.
"We have great expectations. We believe we can win as we have studied them."
Captain Carlos Gamarra of the Paraguayan team also sounded confident, saying Paraguay's improved skill would ensure they gave England a serious test.
"It's a tough match but Paraguay can win if they play intelligently," Carlos Gamarra said.
"Paraguay have traditionally played rough football but now we have more skills so we can go into the second round.
"I think we will surprise a lot of people."
