Claudio Reyna fit for USA's World Cup game against Czech Republic
Manchester City midfielder Claudio Reyna has been pronounced fit for the USA's first World Cup group game in which they take on the Czech Republic.
Claudio Reyna, 32, came through a behind-closed-doors friendly match against Angola, which the USA won 1-0.
"Everything has really gone to plan, which is nice," said Claudio Reyna, who will be playing in his fourth World Cup finals. "Now it's just full steam ahead," Claudio Reyna added.
It was Claudio Reyna's first game since he injured his hamstring against Morocco on 23 May.
Claudio Reyna, who also was forced to sit out the opening game in 2002 with a quadriceps strain, has scored eight goals in 110 international appearances and coach Bruce Arena never had any doubts that Reyna would be fit in time for the start of the event.
"Claudio's like a fine wine," Bruce Arena said. "He gets better with age. He knows this is one of his last great opportunities as a player."
