Tottenham's Pedro Mendes welcomes Celtic move
Tottenham midfielder Pedro Mendes would be happy with a possible move to Celtic when the January transfer window opens.
Portuguese international, Pedro Mendes, 26, has been linked with a move
to Glasgow after failing to claim a regular starting place at White
Hart Lane.
"Celtic are a big club, they are attractive and they are always playing in Europe," Pedro Mendes told the Scottish Sun.
"As yet nobody has spoken with me but the situation at Spurs is no better and there is the possibility of leaving."
Pedro Mendes won the European Cup with Porto in 2004 but he has failed to win a regular place since his £2m move.
The arrivals of Edgar Davids, Jermaine Jenas and Teemu Tainio have
pushed him down in the pecking order and in September he announced that
he would like a return to Portugal.
Pedro Mendes favours a central holding role in midfield and may be seen
as a replacement for Celtic captain Neil Lennon, who is considering
retirement at the end of the season.
