Newcastle footballer Titus Bramble in hospital
Newcastle football club have said that defender Titus Bramble has been in hospital for over a week after his injured calf became swollen to double its normal size.
Titus Bramble, 25, sustained the injury during the 0-0 Uefa Cup draw with Eintracht Frankfurt on 30 November.
Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder told the team's website: "Titus has spent eight days in hospital. The whole half of the bottom of his leg had doubled in size.
"Thankfully, the doctors got to him in time and saw what the problem was."
Titus Bramble has now received treatment for his injury and is expected to be released from hospital in the next couple of days.
But, Glenn Roeder added: "He is probably three weeks away from being fit, which could take out until the New Year.
"It is a real shame as he was having his best run when that happened."
