Newcastle footballer Charles N'Zogbia injured

charles nzogbia Newcastle footballer Charles N'Zogbia is due to be away from the action because of suspected knee ligament damage.

Charles N'Zogbia, 20, joined Newcastle's lengthy injury list when he was carried off on a stretcher in the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

"Charles was doing really well but he has hurt his medial ligament. We don't know how serious it is," explained Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder.

And Antoine Sibierski also limped off the pitch with an Achilles injury.

Charles N'Zogbia was taken off after he collided with Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.

Newcastle now await scans on Charles N'Zogbia's knee before they will be able to estimate how long he is likely to be away for.

Glenn Roeder added: "We had 12 injuries, that's not an excuse, it's a fact.

"Antoine took quite a heavy blow to his Achilles and that's pretty sore. We'll just have to wait and see.

"We just don't seem to be able to get through a game of 90 minutes without picking up two injuries, maybe three."
