Manchester United's Ronaldo may be sidelined 3 months
Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he could be away from the action for as much as three months after his ankle surgery.
Before Ronaldo's announcement it was thought that the Manchester United winger, who is sought after by Real Madrid despite his team not wanting to sell him, would only be sidelined for half that time.
Ronaldo, however, had explained: "It's confirmed I'll be out of action for up to 12 weeks but recovery is going well. I must focus on my recovery. I'll be training with a ball in two months."
23-year-old Ronaldo scored 42 goals for Manchester United last season and in doing so he helped his team to victory in the Premier League and Champions League.
Ronaldo had the surgery on his right ankle after he played for Portugal at Euro 2008 but he is not due back for another 10 days when he will be seeing Sir Alex Ferguson to explain himself over what he has been reported to have said about a move to Real Madrid.
