Football star Peter Crouch completes his move to Portsmouth
Football star Peter Crouch has transferred to Portsmouth from Liverpool for a payment of as much as £11m and a four-year contract.
27-year-old Crouch returns to Portsmouth six years after he left the club and will work again with manager Harry Redknapp for the third time since he has been a professional player.
Crouch said: "It's fantastic to be back. I believe Harry gets the best out of me and think the best years of my career can be here."
Liverpool are thought to initially be getting something like £9m for Crouch, who joined the team from Southampton in July 2005.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez said at first that he would consider offers for Crouch around the £15m price range but he had to drop this down because the football star only had a year left on his contract.
Crouch began his football career as a trainee at Tottenham before he went to QPR, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Norwich, Southampton and then to Liverpool. But now he has gone back to Portsmouth.
