Cristiano Ronaldo sees Manchester United doctors
Football star Cristiano Ronaldo has been seeing Manchester United officials for the first time since he said he was thinking of leaving the team but he only met with the club's doctors to assess his recent ankle injury.
The meeting between Ronaldo and Manchester United doctors was held in Lisbon on Wednesday but they were unable to decide whether he will have an operation on his right ankle.
A statement put out by the club reads: "Manchester United medical staff met with the medical teams of the Portuguese FA and Cristiano Ronaldo in Lisbon on Wednesday regarding the ongoing treatment of an injury to his right ankle.
"As a result, further specialist advice is being sought and an announcement will be made on any action in due course."
Ronaldo said after the European Championship that he had been playing despite a foot injury and he has not played since the end of the English season. Recently he has spoken of wanting to move to Real Madrid, but Manchester have said they will do all they can to stop this.
