Chelsea will not sell John Terry to Manchester City
Chelsea Football Club have turned down an offer from Manchester City who were hoping to buy the London club's captain John Terry.
This was the second time Manchester City had tried to get Terry, who is also captain for England, because their earlier offer in late 2008 was also rejected.
Chelsea posted a statement on their website which reads: "It was made clear, for the second time, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject".
The amount Manchester City had bid for 28-year-old Terry has not been revealed.
Terry is under contract with Chelsea until 2012 so has more years to go with Chelsea in any case.
Terry has played 405 games in 12 years he has been with the club, and has scored 35 goals.
As captain he has also led the club to winning two Premier League titles, two FA Cup victories and two League Cup triumphs.
