Chelsea sign Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City
Chelsea Football Club have just signed Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City for a four-year deal.
Sturridge first played for Manchester City back in February 2007. He has a past record of having scored four goals in the 26 times he was a player last season.
19-year-old Sturridge, who plays in the position of striker, was Manchester City's young player of the year in 2009.
Sturridge has represented England too as a footballer in the under-20 group.
However, due to the fact that Sturridge is under 24 and because he rejected a new deal at Manchester City, no compensation is due.
This means that Chelsea and City may now require the aid of a tribunal to agree a fee to be paid for Sturridge.
Manchester City are said to be hoping to get a "development fee" of approximately £10m for him but Chelsea are reported to be looking at a much lower fee of around £3m.
