Chelsea footballer Didier Drogba injured

didier drogbaChelsea footballer Didier Drogba is injured with what is thought to be knee ligament damage. The striker was hurt whilst playing in the Champions League draw with Romania's CFR Cluj on Wednesday.

Drogba, who had only just recovered from a knee injury, had to leave on crutches and he is having a scan on Thursday to determine how badly he is injured.

Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari said that the players John Terry and Alex had also been injured but he confirmed that recently sidelined Ashley Cole will be returning for the weekend after he was unable to play in the match against Cluj due to a back problem.

Chelsea already have Joe Cole, Deco, Michael Essien and Ricardo Carvalho on the growing list of injured players, but they are playing against Aston Villa at home in the Premier League on Sunday.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has warned his fellow players that they will need to give it their best shot because they can no longer count on Drogba who will be sidelined.
