Aston Villa will let Gareth Barry go to Liverpool
Aston Villa's boss Martin O'Neill says the club don't mind if Gareth Barry moves to Liverpool as long as they are prepared to pay what is asked for him.
Liverpool had a second bid of £13m refused two weeks ago and it is rumoured that Villa will only sell Barry for £18m.
27-year-old midfielder Gareth Barry had criticised Aston Villa for not doing enough to make him stay but O'Neill says they would like to keep him if possible.
However, Barry has told his club that he wants to sign for Liverpool and they still aiming to sell Xabi Alonso to Juventus to help pay for him although they haven't confirmed the deal yet.
Gareth Barry had recently been the captain of the England team for the first time and he scored his first international goal in the friendly match against Trinidad and Tobago.
Liverpool want to team up Barry in midfield with fellow England footballer Steven Gerrard and have stated so in public.
