Wasps rugby star Danny Cipriani out of New Zealand tour
Wasps rugby player Danny Cipriani will not be included in England's tour of New Zealand because he has been sidelined for six months with a fracture dislocation of his right ankle.
Cipriani, 20, was hurt whilst playing in the semi-final play-off match against Bath on Sunday, and which his team won.
Danny Cipriani was tackled by Olly Barkley and needed oxygen on the pitch before being rushed to London's Lister Hospital, where he had an operation on his injured ankle.
Cipriani is being kept in for observation for the next couple of days.
Wasps director of rugby Ian McGeechan is reported to have said:"It would have been great to see him playing in a final but from our point of view he will have the summer to recover and we have to make sure we do everything to get him right for next season."
Danny Cipriani will definitely have to miss England's summer tour if New Zealand, but it is also looking very unlikely that he will be available for the home autumn internationals against Australia, South Africa and the All Blacks.
