Warrington rugby player Adrian Morley suffers second injury

morley Warrington Wolves forward Adrian Morley will now be away from the action for at least six weeks after suffering a second broken bone in his face whilst playing in the new Super League season.

Adrian Morley, 29, has a displaced fracture of the cheekbone and will undergo an operation later this week. The injury was sustained whilst playing against Hull KR on Sunday and came just 17 minutes into his comeback after recovering from an operation on a fractured eye socket.

Adrian Morley had fractured his eye socket after his head bashed into that of Wigan prop Eamonn O'Carroll less than 40 minutes into the Warrington Wolves debut game for this season on 9 February.

This second injury was the result of yet another clash of heads, this time with Warrington and Great Britain team-mate player Paul Johnson.

"I am absolutely devastated," Adrian Morley told the Manchester Evening News.

"This is a different part of my face but it's another freak accident."
