Wales rugby coach Gareth Jenkins makes changes to team
Wales rugby coach Gareth Jenkins has made 10 changes to the team who will play against Japan at the Millennium Stadium on Thursday, and he is creating a totally new front row from the players who faced Australia in their 20-32 defeat.
Scrum-half Mike Phillips will get his first start, as fullback Kevin Morgan is replacing Gareth Thomas, who is injured, and James Hook and Jamie Robinson will take central positions along with Dafydd James on the wing.
Alix Popham has been chosen to comeback as number 8 and Will James is the replacement for Ian Gough.
Wales rugby team will only have had five days to recuperate from the defeat they suffered at the hands of Australia, and Gareth Jenkins, bearing this in mind, is using some fresh players.
Rhys Thomas is on the list to play as hooker with Duncan Jones and Chris Horsman on either side of him.
The only rugby players who played against Australia and will now face Japan are Shane Williams, Stephen Jones, Alun Wyn Jones, Jonathan Thomas and Colin Charvis.
