Rugby player Lesley Vainikolo to leave Bradford Bulls
Bradford Bulls have said that Tongan rugby player Lesley Vainikolo will be leaving them at the end of June to begin a fresh contract with rugby union side Gloucester.
Winger Lesley Vainikolo, 28, is actually under contract to the Bradford Bulls until the end of the 2009 season but he had asked for a release in order to take up playing rugby union instead.
Bradford Bulls agreed to release Lesley Vainikolo after they had signed up Brisbane Broncos winger Tame Tupou.
Lesley Vainikolo, who has made 146 appearances with Bradford Bulls, could be lining up alongside Tame Tupou against Harlequins at Odsal on Sunday week.
Lesley Vainikolo was officially unveiled as a Gloucester rugby union player on Wednesday, signing a three-year deal.
Lesley Vainikolo said: "I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone connected with Bradford Bulls for making the last five years so memorable."
