Rugby Football League charge Paul Cooke with Hull move
The Rugby Football League (RFL) has charged player Paul Cooke over his move from Hull Football Club to Hull Kingston Rovers rugby club earlier this year.
Paul Cooke, 26, who signed for Hull Kingston Rovers in April, has been accused of making an illegal approach to another club before the contract he was under expired.
The RFL had permitted Paul Cooke to relocate to the Hull rugby side, however, allegations of misconduct were made to its compliance commissioner.
Paul Cooke said: "I knew when I left it could come to this. I'm fine about it,"
"My solicitors are on to it, there's nothing more I can say. I'm sure it will all come out eventually."
Hull FC had at first attempted to stop Paul Cooke from moving, but the RFL, who had originally tried to prevent it too, then approved the deal in late April.
Paul Cooke said he never actually signed the three-year deal he was offered by Hull FC in June 2006 and was therefore a free agent at the time of the move.
Paul Cooke's disciplinary hearing will take place on 24 September, it has been reported.
