Ospreys rugby star Brent Cockbain wants to leave
Rugby star Brent Cockbain, who plays as lock, has shocked the Ospreys by requesting a transfer, just a week after being dropped from plans for the Wales' World Cup.
Brent Cockbain, 32, is under contract for another season but has told the Ospreys he wants to leave the team.
It has been rumoured that Sale Sharks are one of several rugby clubs interested in signing Brent Cockbain, who has turned down a new deal at the Liberty Stadium.
Brent Cockbain explained: "The time is right to move, but I have not decided where I am going."
However, Brent Cockbain still wants to play for Wales and said: "I still have ambitions to play for Wales so I don't want to jeopardise that, but I feel the time is right for a new challenge away from the Ospreys."
Brent Cockbain's long-term future career with the Ospreys has been in doubt since they recently signed Wales lock Ian Gough from Newport Gwent Dragons.
