New Zealand rugby star Doug Howlett arrested at Heathrow
All Blacks rugby player Doug Howlett has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to two cars, it has been reported.
Police arrested winger Doug Howlett, 29, after being called out to a disturbance outside Heathrow Airport's Hilton Hotel on Tuesday.
Scotland Yard have confirmed that: "Mr Howlett was taken to Heathrow police station and bailed to reappear pending further inquiries."
Doug Howlett has been the best try scorer for New Zealand with 49 tries on his very impressive record, however, he did not play in the pre-tournament favourites' surprising World Cup quarter-final loss to France on Saturday.
A disappointed team manager Darren Shand is reported to have said: "It is a serious matter and we are concerned that something of this nature has occurred at what is already a disappointing time for the team and for our supporters."
