Italian rugby coach Pierre Berbizier to leave his job
Pierre Berbizier the coach for Italy rugby union team is leaving his job when his contract ends after the World Cup and he will be returning to France, the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) has announced. A FIR representative said: "Out of a personal choice, he said he wanted to go to France at the end of his deal."
It has been speculated that Pierre Berbizier might take over from France coach Bernard Laporte, who is retiring when the World Cup is over.
Pierre Berbizier has an impressive career as a rugby player as well as a coach and he won 56 caps for France at scrum-half, as well as being captain for the team on 11 occasions.
Pierre Berbizier gained his reputation as a rugby coach when he guided France to the semi-finals of the 1995 World Cup in South Africa.
