Former Australia rugby captain Danny Buderus signs with Leeds
Danny Buderus, who was the former captain for Australia rugby league team has now signed for Leeds and will play for his new team from 2009 onward.
30-year-old Danny Buderus explained: "This is an opportunity to broaden my life and rugby league experiences while fulfilling career ambitions of playing in England."
Danny Buderus, who plays in the position of hooker, has played 205 times for Newcastle Knights Down Under, and he has made 18 New South Wales appearances as well as winning 24 Test caps.
Leeds boss Gary Hetherington is delighted to be getting Danny Buderus and said: "In Danny Buderus we have signed one of the greatest players in the world."
And he was backed up by Leeds coach Brian McClennan who added: "When I first joined the Rhinos, Danny was the first guy that I thought would really help our team."
Danny Buderus who has spent his entire career with Newcastle Knights said: "I have been blessed to play professional football in Newcastle for the last 13 years and I am extremely grateful for the support I have received throughout my career from everyone involved at the Knights."
