England rugby player Harry Ellis sidelined
England scrum-half Harry Ellis will have to miss the remainder of Leicester's treble bid and it is now doubtful if he will be fit enough for the World Cup in time after injuring his knee badly.
Harry Ellis has damaged his anterior cruciate ligament, which could mean he will be sidelined from eight weeks to as much as six months.
Head coach Pat Howard explained: "It is a little too early to say how long Harry will be out for,
"We will work with England's medical team to decide what is best for him."
Harry Ellis injured his knee in Leicester's Guinness Premiership semi-final play-off win against Bristol last Saturday.
Harry Ellis will definitely miss Saturday's final against Gloucester at Twickenham, as well as the Heineken Cup final against Wasps a week on Sunday following that.
Pat Howard said that Harry Ellis might need surgery and he added: "It's a very big blow to England and it's a blow for us because he's a very good player."
