England rugby coach Brian Ashton's future's in doubt
The future of England rugby coach Brian Ashton is in doubt even though the team are celebrating victories against Samoa, Tonga, Australia and France.
England's players have all returned home now but Brian Ashton's contract is up for review in December, although RFU director of elite rugby Rob Andrew maintains that they will not be putting any pressure on the coach because of this.
Rob Andrew said: "We have a review process but I won't be held to any deadlines."
Rob Andrew feels that both he and Brian Ashton need time to consider England's performance throughout the tournament.
And Rob Andrew praised how Brian Ashton inspired a team of potential losers into potential winners.
Brian Ashton says he would enjoy carrying on as coach but is worried about his age and he explained: "I'm 65 in four years' time. Everyone knows it's a pretty good retirement age."
