England Rugby's David Strettle injures foot
England Rugby winger David Strettle's hopes of playing in the World Cup have been dashed when he broke a bone in his foot whilst training. David Strettle has injured the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
David Strettle, 24, will see a specialist on Wednesday night and England Rugby manager Brian Ashton will not be deciding on David Strettle's future until he has seen the medical report.
Brian Ashton said: "I'm obviously sorry to hear about his injury,"
Brian Ashton added: "I wish him a speedy recovery. I won't decide about a possible replacement until I receive a briefing of the consultation on Thursday."
David Strettle, who has three caps, has played well since he joined the England Rugby team for the Six Nations game against Ireland, however, he has also encountered some problems, missing both England's Tests against South Africa after being hospitalised with a stomach virus.
Now it seems that David Strettle will miss the chance to play in the World Cup as well.
