Bradford's Marcus Bai retires from rugby
Bradford winger Marcus Bai has announced his retirement from rugby league with immediate effect.
Marcus Bai, who at the age of 34 would have been the oldest player in Super League XII, signed a one-year contract extension in September but has now decided against honouring it
"I've had enough and I don't think my body will hold up next year," Marcus Bai told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus and he added: "I really wanted to win a Grand Final with Bradford but some things don't work out."
Marcus Bai joined the Bradford Bulls at the start of Super League XI after playing for the previous two seasons with Leeds Rhinos, where he won the Grand Final in 2004, and he also had a brief spell with Hull, but made his name playing for Melbourne Storm in Australia's NRL.
"I found it hard to get in for training every day this year if I'm honest," added Marcus Bai.
"I've given everything though. I didn't think anyone would pick me up when I left Leeds but Bradford did and I've really enjoyed it there," Marcus Bai said.
