Bath rugby player Danny Grewcock appeal result due

grewcock Bath second row rugby player Danny Grewcock's appeal against the six-week ban will be heard on Tuesday.

Danny Grewcock, 34, was omitted from England's initial World Cup training squad because he had been given a six-week suspension for punching in the European Challenge Cup final.

England coach Brian Ashton explained he would look again at the case after the result of Danny Grewcock's appeal was made public.

Danny Grewcock had been banned for punching Clermont Auvergne's Thibault Privat.

The ban is in force from 4 August to 15 September, which means Danny Grewcock misses out on three World Cup warm-up Tests and England's first two World Cup matches.

Brian Ashton, in the meantime, has selected his 47-man squad and 46 members who are ready to play are currently training with the Royal Marines before they travel to Portugal for an eight-day training camp.
